Cameron Norrie vs Lorenzo Sonego prediction and odds: Indian Wells 2024

Cameron Norrie vs Lorenzo Sonego prediction and odds: Indian Wells 2024

I’ve got plenty of tennis predictions today coming up for the BNP Paribas Open. And for this particular game, I’ve covered Norrie vs Sonego – an interesting match with two guys that have contrasting styles. Check out my tips below.

Our favourite Cameron Norrie vs Lorenzo Sonego predictions

Lorenzo Sonego has earned himself a second clash with Cam Norrie in the second round of the BNP Paribas Open. He beat Kecmanovic to set this match up, while Norrie received a bye into round two since he is seeded. That said, these two are due to do battle tonight, and I’ve got a couple of predictions for you to consider ahead of the action:

Three total sets @ 5/4 (2.25)

Given that Sonego has competed in hard-court tournaments in the build-up to Indian Wells, I feel he will come out of the blocks quicker than Norrie here. Because of that, I can see him winning the first set. But Norrie is generally a better and more consistent player than Sonego overall, hence I believe this is a good market to cover.

Over 23.5 games @ 21/20 (2.05)

As stated in my first prediction, Sonego has recently played more hard-court tennis than Norrie, and he seemed to be playing well in round one. For that reason, I think he will push Norrie close in this match, and I do feel the game will go the distance.

Cameron Norrie vs Lorenzo Sonego odds

The latest odds for this match suggest a 62.50% probability for Norrie to win vs just a 45.50% chance for Sonego.

Norrie vs Sonego – can Norrie transition from clay for hard court success at the BNP Paribas Open?

As my Indian Wells 2024 preview becomes a distant memory, it’s time to look at some previews before this match gets underway tonight.

Cameron Norrie preview

Compared to Sonego, Cam Norrie is a far more consistent player. But he is down at 28 in the world right now, while he’s been ranked far higher in the past. This is also the first Masters 1000 tournament that Norrie ever won, so he’s had success in Indian Wells before. Of course, this is a big factor to consider when making predictions for his match against Sonego.

Lorenzo Sonego preview

Sonego is a man with plenty of talent, and this shines through in some of his results against big names in tennis. But he does struggle to find his best tennis week in and week out, which is why he’s ranked 55 in the world. However, he scored a solid win against Kecmanovic in his opener, and it will be interesting to see whether he maintains that level tonight.

Norrie vs Sonego head to head

While Norrie is the seeded player here, Sonego has the edge in the head-to-head department at 1-0 in his favour. But this match was back in 2019, and Norrie isn’t the same player he was back then. Then again, neither is Sonego!
