Benjamin Bonzi vs Christopher Eubanks prediction and odds: US Open 2023

Christopher Eubanks US Open

Will Christopher Eubanks kick off his US Open with a bang or can the French challenger, Benjamin Bonzi cause an upset? Check out these tennis predictions today to see which way this second-round match could go.

Our favourite Benjamin Bonzi vs Christopher Eubanks predictions

Although Benjamin Bonzi has beaten Eubanks in the past, the American is a different player now than he was when the Frenchman took him out. In fact, Eubanks now has the confidence and the results necessary to believe that he can make a deep draw run here. Yet focusing on this second-round clash, I feel that the following two betting markets show the best value:

Eubanks to win @ 2/5 (1.40)

Given the way that Christopher Eubanks has been playing this year, I can’t see Bonzi beating him. And the fact that the odds are currently at 2/5 for Eubanks to win still shows reasonable value, meaning you can get a decent return on your wager.

Eubanks -3.5 games handicap @ 4/5 (1.80)

Based on the way that Eubanks plays, he is a very hard player to break. So if he does manage to grab an early break or two against Bonzi, unless the Frenchman manages to win a set, this market is very likely to pull through. After all, one break in each set guarantees at least a 2 game margin, so if Eubanks wins in straights with a couple of breaks, this should be a winner.

The odds in this article were correct at the time of writing, and the odds are subject to change. We recommend checking with your bookmaker before placing a bet.

Eubanks to dazzle in front of home crowd

Let’s now shift the attention from my ATP US Open 2023 predictions above to an actual preview for each individual right now.

Benjamin Bonzi preview

Benjamin Bonzi is an experienced player who finds himself ranked 108 in the world at the moment. This is significantly lower than Eubanks, yet he did receive one of the wildcards into the main draw this year. Additionally, he produced a decent win against Halys in the previous round, so he won’t be a pushover for Eubanks, not by any means.

Christopher Eubanks preview

Christopher Eubanks has recently started to play the tennis of his life. As you might recall, he played amazing tennis at Wimbledon, reaching the quarter-finals in that event. However, his hard-court season hasn’t been great so far, as he lost in the first round of both 1000-level tournaments in August. Yet he got his act together in the first round of the US Open – taking out Soonwoo Kwon in four sets.

Bonzi vs Eubanks head to head

The head-to-head between these guys stands at 1-1, which makes this second-round game pretty interesting. But only one of these two matches was played on outdoor hard courts, and this was the most recent meeting back in 2022. This was the one that Eubanks won in a tight three-setter, beating Bonzi 7-5 in the final set.
