As is common in these duels that offer lower scores than the Masters or Grand Slam, many top players are absent for different reasons. Injuries are one of the main reasons why some competitors decide to take a break and recover to be at 100% before the start of the most important tournaments.

Undoubtedly, the most sensitive absence is Rafael Nadal, who continues to recover from his injury. His absence will be remembered every day when there are matches on the court that bears his name. In any case, there is no doubt that we will witness great duels from the first round onwards.

Barcelona Open Finals

Carlos Alcaraz vs Stefanos Tsitsipas H2H

Both players are exactly one year since the last time they faced each other, precisely at the Barcelona Open in the previous edition. On that occasion, they met in the quarter-finals and we enjoyed a great duel that lasted three sets.

In the first instance the Spanish player took the first set, but Tsitsipas reacted to level the match. In the last set Alcaraz maintained his level while his rival lowered it a little bit, so Alcaraz sentenced his pass to the next round and to become champion.

That was their third h2h and the only one they have played on clay. Previously, they faced each other on hard court and on all occasions, Carlos was the winner.
