ATP Paris Masters – Day Three Preview

I hope you are enjoying the Paris Masters as much as I am at the moment. We’ve already been treated to some top-level tennis on Monday, October 31st – day one of the event. And as I am writing this, there are some fantastic battles going on for day two. Many of the big guys are in action today too, including Djokovic, Ruud, and others. However, since day two will be wrapped up in just a few hours’ time, I figured it was a good idea to look ahead to day three.

Just by taking a quick look at the schedule for the Paris Masters tomorrow, we can see names like Nadal, Alcaraz, Auger-Aliassime, and Tsitsipas – all top-level players. Of course, there are other players involved in the action too. And for that reason, before a single ball is hit on the indoor courts at the Paris Masters tomorrow, I wanted to provide a day three preview.

ATP Paris Masters Day Three

Below, you can read through some key matches to watch for day three of the tournament. I’ve also shared a few predictions for which way certain matches might swing.

Day Three of the Paris Masters – Be Sure to Watch These Matches

The games being played tomorrow are all round of 32 matches. Some guys have already played and won a match to make it to this point. But some guys have received a bye through to this round since they are seeded. Either way, the stage is set for a few mouthwatering prospects tomorrow. And you can read through my top three picks right here:

Draper vs Tiafoe

If you are a fan of big-hitting and sensational shot-making, I highly recommend tuning in for this match. Jack Draper has enjoyed an incredible 2022 season, and the powerful Brit has really asserted himself on the ATP Tour. Of course, he has that troublesome ‘lefty’ game to add to his powerful play. Yet he will certainly have his hands full against Frances Tiafoe. This ridiculously talented American has also had a great season.

Let’s not forget that he made the US Open semi-finals not too long ago. And he is also one of the game’s great entertainers too. So for me, I’m going with Tiafoe.

Fritz vs Simon

Can Gilles Simon defy the odds and avoid retirement for one more match? If you recall, he pulled a rabbit out of the hat against Andy Murray yesterday evening in front of an ecstatic Parisian crowd. Yet this time he will be stepping out onto the court against a different type of opponent altogether. While Murray gave Simon time on the ball that led to some awesome rallies, Fritz is a huge hitter. I expect short rallies and plenty of drama in this match.

However, I do think that Fritz will pull through in the end.

Nadal vs Paul

How could I not include Rafael Nadal on this preview list? The great Spaniard is still going strong on the ATP Tour, and this is the first time he is competing as a father. I just hope that the baby hasn’t been keeping him awake too much to impact his performance in Paris. As you can see, he will be playing against the powerful American, Tommy Paul. And this could be a potential banana skin for Nadal.

He will need to play well to come through this match, but I am backing him to do so.
