Find out who the ATP China Open favorites are, as well as daily predictions for this and other concurrent championships.
Carlos Alcaraz
If the Spanish tennis star has demonstrated anything, it is that he has a winning mindset. His fall in the US Open semifinals was a setback to his hopes.
Carlos Alcaraz has fallen short of the number-one spot he held for nearly a year. Alcaraz will start as the ATP China Open seed 1, with a 42.10% chance of winning.
Daniil Medvedev
The US Open finalist squandered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to complete the Grand Slam, which Novak Djokovic took. The Russian tennis player has more finals and trophies this season, enabling him to complete the podium and accompany Djokovic and Alcaraz, who have fought for first position all year.
This season, he has an excellent record of 55 victories and 12 losses. His odds of becoming champion are good, with a 22.2% possibility.
Holger Rune
The Danish tennis player had a strong season in 2022 and looked good for this year. The player’s audacity has gained him some detractors, but Rune is not to be disheartened.
Despite winning only one title this year, he has made significant progress in events such as the Monte-Carlo Masters and the Rome Masters, where he reached the finals. He also made the quarterfinals at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Despite being seeded third, his odds are at 2.2%.
WTA and ATP announce adjustment to 2020 calendar
China Open has been informed by @WTA and @atptour that the tournaments in Chinese mainland will have to be canceled for the rest of 2020, which we feel truly regrettable.https://t.co/eF71IUfqTu pic.twitter.com/rlJQn3vh2k

Stefanos Tsitaipas
The Greek player has a fantastic record of 42 victories and 17 losses, but only one title in Los Cabos. He was expected to win major titles after the Australian Open final, but he has had to settle for finals thus far.
In actuality, Stefanos Tsitsipas reached the finals of the China Open in 2019, when he was defeated by Austrian Dominic Thiem. Given that Tsitsipas is ranked fifth in the world, his 6.7% chance of winning the China Open is a bit low.
Andrey Rublev
Along with Medvedev, who remains in the world’s top 10, he is his country’s second competitor. This season, he won at Monte-Carlo and Bastad but lost in three other finals. Among his accomplishments, it is worth noting that he has reached the quarterfinals of three Grand Slams.
We recently saw the Russian player at the Laver Cup, where he competed in both singles and doubles bouts. With 44 wins and 19 defeats, his chances of winning the China Open 23 are 5.9%.
Casper Ruud
Ruud has been one of the year’s biggest disappointments, as his results have fallen short of expectations after missing out on the chance to be world No. 1 at the 2022 US Open. Nonetheless, he remains in the top 10 with to performances such as at Roland Garros, where he reached the finals and was one of three-time Grand Slam 2023 champion Novak Djokovic’s victims.
The Norwegian tennis star has 31 triumphs, a far cry from his 51 victories in 2022. His chances of winning the championship are 4.8%.
Why is not Novak Djokovic an ATP China Open seed?

Djokovic would have undoubtedly been the competition’s leading Cid had he competed. However, following a great run in New York, where he won his 24th Grand Slam title, the Serb decided to take a break and withdraw from the China Open 2023 as well as the next Shagai Masters.
