Dodig/Krajicek vs Koolhof/Skupski: Nys/Zielinski to win @ 4/7 (1.57)
The most anticipated final of the China Open doubles 2023 will take place in this edition. The tournament’s two favorite combinations overcome each of those obstacles to enjoy this final encounter in Beijing. Your stats are pretty close, but the Dutch-British team is only a few points ahead of you.
The series between these two teams favors Koolhof and Skupski, who have won two and lost one. Both couples had won 7 of their past 8 matches, and I believe Dodig and Krajicek evened the series with a superb performance in the China Open double final.

Dodig/A. Krajicek vs W. Koolhof/N. Skupski
Main contenders in WTA China Open doubles 2023
Ivan Dogig & Austin Krajicek
2023 has been a fantastic year for the Croatian-American duo, who have won four trophies thus far. We watched this combination named champions in Rotterdam, Monte-Carlo, Roland Garros, and London. They will now be considered favorites to win one more title, which would be Ivan Dodig’s second in a row, after he won the last edition of the China Open doubles with another partner in 2019.
Wesley Koolhof & Neal Skupski
Koolhof and Skupski began the year at the top of the ATP rankings, but despite a strong season, they have been unable to preserve their position as the best tandem in the world. They won their first title of the season at the Liberna Open, followed by their largest triumph at Wimbledon, but they have been knocked out in the first rounds of the subsequent three tournaments they have competed.
Maximo Gonzales & Andres Molteni
Former world number one Argentine duo has performed admirably in three of the previous four events in which they have competed. We witnessed them become champs in Washington only to lose swiftly in Toronto. Then they rose back up and won another championship, this time in Cincinnati. They started well in New York but were eliminated in the quarter-finals. This season, they are projected to at least reach the semi-finals, despite having previously lost in the early rounds.
Santiago Gonzalez & Edouard Roger-Vasseline
The Mexican-French couple has been a fan favorite all year, and they have performed admirably at every tournament in which they have appeared. They were at least in the top four in numerous competitions, although they only won at Marseille, Miami Open, and Los Cabos. This couple’s growth has been rapid; perhaps next year they will attempt a Grand Slam. Gonzales and Roger-Vasselin have combined to win seven of their past ten matches.
