The Miami Open has been pretty awesome so far, and the top seeds are starting to strut their stuff. This means more tennis predictions today are coming your way, including my tips for the match between Zverev and Eubanks in the 3rd round. Check out my predictions for this one below.
Our favourite Alexander Zverev vs Christopher Eubanks predictions
Contents
Eubanks came through an absolute classic against Dan Evans in the previous round to set up this battle with Zverev. He saved match points to claim victory 7-6 in the third, so I’m curious as to how much he has left in the tank. As for Zverev, he came through easily against Auger-Aliassime, which brings me to the following predictions:
Zverev to win 2-0 @ 4/9 (1.44)
Although Eubanks plays a pretty high-risk, high-reward style of tennis, I don’t see it being enough to challenge Alexander Zverev. The German is just too steady from the back, and he has the ability to step it up to outpower Eubanks when it matters. So for me, he should win in straight sets.
Zverev -3.5 games handicap @ 8/13 (1.62)
Since I think Zverev will get the job done in straight sets, this market also seems appropriate to cover. After all, if Zverev breaks Eubanks just once in each set, this one would come through – and the odds are pretty appealing too.
Alexander Zverev vs Christopher Eubanks odds
The most recent odds indicate a win probability of 90.90% for Zverev, which is huge. As for the chance of a win for Eubanks, this is down at just 15.40%.
Zverev to outclass Eubanks under the Miami sun?
In our original Miami Open 2024 preview, Zverev was mentioned as one of the top seeds. But how do both players stack up coming into this match?
Alexander Zverev preview
It feels like Zverev is finally back to top form after his run in Melbourne and his level of tennis in recent weeks. He also has that swag about him again, as shown in his destruction of Auger-Aliassime in the last round. That’s exactly why he is ranked 5 in the world right now, which is much higher than Eubanks.
Christopher Eubanks preview
I love the way that Eubanks plays, but I do question whether it’s the most appropriate style in the modern game. Regardless, he serves big, he goes for it from the baseline, and he has great hands around the net. The issue is that he now faces a much tougher challenge than Dan Evans, and he only came through that one by the skin of his teeth.
Zverev vs Eubanks head to head
These two have played just once before, and that was in 2023. Zverev won that match 6-2 6-3, but it was played on clay – a surface that doesn’t suit Eubanks whatsoever. Due to that, Zverev has the 1-0 head-to-head lead here.
