Ready for the final instalment of my tennis predictions today relating to the French Open? My predictions today are all about the men’s singles final between Zverev and Alcaraz – check out all of the details below.
Our favourite Alexander Zverev vs Carlos Alcaraz predictions
Contents
Who will lift the trophy at Roland Garros on Sunday? Will it be Zverev or Alcaraz? Either way, we will have a first time champion in Paris, which last occurred when Novak Djokovic won the title in 2016. Given this is close to a decade ago, there’s plenty of excitement surrounding the upcoming clash between the players ranked 3rd and 4th in the world here.
As for my suggested markets, check them out below:
Over 37.5 games @ 4/6 (1.67)
Because these two are somewhat similar in their abilities on clay, this indicates that the match should be fairly tight. Additionally, two of their three previous meetings in Grand Slams have satisfied this particular market.
Alcaraz -3.5 games handicap @ 4/6 (1.67)
Although I do believe this will be a tight match, I think that Alcaraz will ultimately pull away from Zverev at some point. He just seems to reach new levels in Grand Slam finals, which is why the ‘-3.5 games handicap’ is a good market to cover.
Alexander Zverev vs Carlos Alcaraz odds
The latest odds for this match indicate a 32.30% probability for Zverev winning compared to a 75% chance for Alzaraz.
Showdown of clay court heavyweights coming up in Paris
Let’s take a look at Zverev and Alcaraz heading into the finals of the 2024 French Open:
Alexander Zverev preview
Zverev has had an incredible few weeks on the ATP Tour. After winning the Rome Masters prior to Roland Garros, he has backed this up by reaching the finals of the 2024 French Open – the first time he’s made it this far. It’s not like he was given the easy road to travel to reach the finals, either. After beating Nadal in the first round, he’s won two five-set contests, and he’s beaten last year’s runner-up, Casper Ruud.
Carlos Alcaraz preview
Carlos Alcaraz is ranked 3 in the world right now, which is one spot higher than Zverev, who is ranked number 4. This is the first time he’s made it to the finals of Roland Garros, although he has made the semis once (in 2023). However, with this being his third Grand Slam final, one could say he’s more experienced than Zverev in these kinds of matches.
Zverev vs Alcaraz head to head
Zverev holds a 5-4 H2H record over Alcaraz, meaning this will be their 10th meeting on the ATP Tour. They have played at Roland Garros in the past too, which was in the 2022 quarter-finals – a match that Zverev won in four sets. To add to that, this will be the 4th time they’ve played against each other in Grand Slams, and Zverev has a 2-1 record against Alcaraz at this level.
