Kecmanovic played two finals earlier this year. He lost to Casper Ruud in Estoril 6-2, 7-6 and to Taylor Fritz in Delray Beach 6-0, 5-7, 6-2.
This is his first time to play in Gstaad and he won his last title back in 2020 in Kitzbuhel.
