MotoGP Silverstone 2023 Sprint Race Predictions
Contents
Marco Bezzecchi will start on pole position for the ten-lap sprint race that will take place today, ahead of Jack Miller. Francesco Bagnaia and Alex Marquez followed, in a session that included plenty of crashes, including for three of the top four qualifiers.
There will be plenty of riders looking to make a recovery ride as well, most notably Enea Bastianini and Marc Marquez, who start thirteenth and fourteenth respectively, as well as Fabio Quartararo, who starts plum last.
Prediction #1: Marco Bezzecchi to Win
Despite a late crash, Marco Bezzecchi was the fastest rider in qualifying and will start from pole position. The Mooney VR46 rider was also the winner of the only wet race so far this season, back in April when he won the Argentine Grand Prix.
The Italian rider is also coming off the back of his first pole position, as well as his first Sprint victory, which came at the most recent round, at Assen. That was in dry conditions, but he was dominant throughout, and the victory never really looked in doubt.
Prediction #2: Jack Miller to finish on the Podium
Jack Miller is renowned for his performances in wet conditions for a number of years, as the majority of his victories have come in the rain.
The Sprint races have also suited him quite well, with podiums at Jerez and the Sachsenring being highlights of his season so far in 2023, which is his first season with the Austrian manufacturer. Last year, he was on the podium at Sivlerstone, finishing third for Ducati.
The KTM bike has also emerged as the second best of the grid, something that surely will help the Australian rider perform well at the Sprint. It is also very good in wet conditions, as proven last year by Miguel Oliveira, who earned the team’s only two victories in the rain.
MotoGP Silverstone 2023 Weather Conditions
As in qualifying, rain is expected to keep falling on track for the Sprint. Riders complained about the conditions being too severe in qualifying, but the expectation is that the race will go ahead regardless. Things are looking better for tomorrow, although rain is still possible.
