Wolves are back in action on Saturday evening, as Gary O’Neil’s in-form side welcome Newcastle United to Molineux for a showdown in the Midlands on match week ten of the Premier League.

It’s set to be a thrilling affair between two in-form sides, with O’Neil’s squad unbeaten in four fixtures and Howe’s side unbeaten in their previous five league games.

The last time the two sides met in the league was in March, where the Geordies were 2-1 victors over the Old Gold at St James’ Park.

The last time Molineux hosted the fixture was in August 2022, as Bruno Lage’s side held the Magpies to a draw, with the fixture ending 1-1.

Wolves 

After claiming a point against Luton Town at the end of September, Wolves began a rich vein of form, in which they claimed eight points, including the historic win over Manchester City. 

Last time out, O’Neil’s side were victorious late on against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, where the English manager left his former club smiling thanks to a 88th minute winner from Sasa Kalajdzic. 

On the injury front, it’s been confirmed that deadline day signing Jean-Ricner Bellegarde is set to miss out due to a minor calf issue, while Joe Hodge has been ruled out for a month after undergoing shoulder surgery. 

On a positive note, Mario Lemina and Nelson Semedo will return to the squad after serving their suspensions.

Newcastle United 

Similar to Wolves, Newcastle have been in fine form since their 3-1 defeat to Brighton. 

Howe’s side have picked up four wins and a draw in their previous five games, scoring a magnificent 17 goals. 

After their Champions League defeat to Borussia Dortmund earlier this week, Howe’s injury list was updated, as striker Alexander Isak and Jacob Murphy were forced to withdraw prematurely due to injury. 

Both players, along with Elliot Anderson, will be unavailable for the Wolves fixture, while Sandro Tonali is expected to make the squad as he awaits confirmation of his pending 10-month ban.

Newcastle will be vary aware that Wolves come armed with the terrorising threat of Pedro Neto on the right flank, as the tricky winger leads the assists charts along with Kieran Trippier with six so far this season. 

At left-back, Dan Burn is not blessed for pace, however he has an innate ability to read the game and extinguish threat, making Saturday evening’s battle on the wide channel an exciting thing to watch. 

Wolves vs Newcastle United predicted lineup – The Final Word 

A win for Wolves at Molineux would be as significant as the win against Manchester City, as Newcastle arrive in the Midlands as one of the current teams to beat in the Premier League. 

On the other hand, the Magpies will be fully charged and ready to exploit Wolves’ weaknesses, particularly as they search for redemption after losing midweek in a dreary display against Dortmund in the Champions League.
