United States vs Ghana Predicted Lineups: Can USMNT rediscover their magic at home?

An intense battle is in the spotlight in the United States vs Ghana predicted lineups when the two teams fight for bragging rights in this FIFA international friendly clash at the Geodis Park in Nashville.

With both the teams having lost their previous friendly games, this should be an action-packed game as the Stars and Stripes aim to outwit the Black Stars.

United States vs Ghana Predicted Lineups and Team News

The United States side saw their impressive home record snapped by Germany in their 3-1 loss to Julian Nagelsmann’s side.

With the CONCACAF Nations League on the horizon in November, the USMNT will look to regain their winning momentum by getting a compelling win over Ghana and setting themselves up nicely to compete in the tournament.

Chris Houghton’s side are still in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations in January and are looking for the best possible competition before that.

They will find that in this talented United States side. Coming off a bitter loss against Mexico, the Black Stars will hope to put in a much more clinical performance to expose the Stars and Stripes’ defensive vulnerability and end this tour of the USA with a win.

Team News: United States

Gregg Berhalter suffered a bit of a setback just before the Germany game when midfielder Malik Tillman had to withdraw from the squad due to injury. His replacement, Alex Zendejas, didn’t get any game-time against Germany and will hope to get some against Ghana.

The likes of Tyler Adams and Zack Steffan weren’t named in the latest squad due to injury problems. Berhalter will look to have his side take the fight to the Black Stars in the United States vs Ghana predicted lineups, because the USMNT needs a big win.

He’ll probably go with an attacking approach and give his forwards more freedom to express themselves and cause chaos.

United States Predicted Lineup

Matt Turner (GK), Joe Scally, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Tim Ream, Sergino Dest, Yunus Musah, Giovani Reyna, Brenden Aaronson, Tim Weah, Christian Pulisic, Folarin Balogun

Team News: Ghana

The Black Stars have been unfortunate to be without a number of key first-team players during the October international friendly. Defenders Tariq Lamptey, Alexander Dijiku and Daniel Amartey are all unavailable for this friendly game. So is dangerous winger Osman Bukhari.

Houghton might rotate his squad a little bit for the United States vs Ghana Predicted Lineups and give more minutes to some of the players who came off the bench against Mexico.

He will play a strong side because Ghana can climb up the FIFA World Rankings ladder with a win over the USMNT. Ghana don’t have much to lose against a team higher than them in the rankings, so they’ll probably go with a brave attacking mindset and be clinical in the transitions.

Ghana Predicted Lineup

Richard Ofori (GK), Salis Abdul Samed, Joseph Aidoo, Nicolas Opoku, Gideon Mensah, Thomas Partey, Stephan Ambrosius, Elisha Owusu, Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo

Hungry Folarin Balogun aims to cause nightmares for Ghana

Folarin Balogun has been an inspired addition to the United States since he decided to represent them internationally.

He’s delivered three goal contributions in just five appearances so far, including two goals. The 22-year-old will look to add to his goal tally against the Black Stars.

He’s been in impressive form for AS Monaco in Ligue 1, scoring three goals in five league games.  Over the last year, Balogun has proven himself as a menacing forward.

He’s blessed with speed and is instinctive with nailing his final product whenever in front of an opposition goal. He will look to completely shake up the Ghana backline by outwitting their defenders.

Balogun is likely to be marked tightly by Aidoo or Opoku, but he’s quite accustomed to all that. The 22-year-old also knows how to cleverly slip past his marker to cause chaos.

He’ll look to be a thorn in the opposition’s backline, destabilizing them with his movement and link-up play. Balogun should get himself quite a few chances in this game, but needs to be at his ruthless best to help his side get a big win.
