Dimitri Van den Bergh vs Jonny Clayton: Prediction and Betting Tips

Dimitri Van den Bergh and Jonny Clayton are preparing to meet for the fourth time this season with the Belgian looking to level their record at two wins apiece. Van den Bergh, a former World Champion has made the most of a kind draw to reach the quarterfinals for just the second time in his career. Arguably playing the best darts of his career, Van den Bergh was in devastating form in the previous round as he blitzed his fellow Belgian Kim Huybrechts 4-0. Van den Bergh averaged 95 throughout the contest, recording six 180s enroute to victory.

Despite Jonny Clayton enjoying a meteoric rise up the PDC World Rankings over the past few seasons, Clayton has always seemed to struggle at the World Championships but ‘The Ferret’ seems to be putting that right this year. Clayton started his last round contest against the reigning World Youth Champion Josh Rock as the underdog but used all of his experience and savvy to come out on top in a thrilling final set. This is the first time Clayton has reached this stage of a World Championship and he will firmly believe he can go all the way this year.

Jonny Clayton to win

Dimitri Van den Bergh presents a formidable challenge, but this is a contest that Jonny Clayton will be confident in winning. Similarly, to his last round Clayton will be hoping his big match experience will be enough to carry him to victory.

Dimitri Van den Bergh: Performance Analysis

Its been an up and down for year for Dimitri Van den Bergh who has thrown some inconsistent darts this year. A winner of both the Nordic and Dutch Masters Events, Van den Bergh also made the semi-finals of the World Match Play but struggled in other events such as the Grand Slam of Darts and European Championships.

He has been in fine form in his run to this year’s quarterfinals and he will be confident he has the game to beat Clayton on the biggest stage of them all.

Jonny Clayton: Performance Analysis

Jonny Clayton announced himself to the darting world in 2021 when the Welshman won The World Grand Prix, Premier League, Masters and World Series of Darts Finals. His 2022 hasn’t quite been as successful but Clayton has still managed to reach the semi-finals of the Premier League, Masters and Players Championship.

Clayton has had to overcome some tricky matches to reach this stage of the tournament but his win over an in form Josh Rock was very impressive. A repeat of that performance should be enough for Clayton to reach his first World Championship semi-final.
