Here are our best tips and predictions ahead of this Group 2 contest:
Our Best Prediction: Ladies Church @ 9/2
As far as I’m concerned, there’s lots to like about Ladies Church, especially at early odds of 9/2. Such a price may well turn out to be generous. The mount of the ever impressive Ryan Moore remains relatively lightly raced and she’s been kept aside for this since winning very nicely at Naas over five furlongs back in late May.
She won in Listed company that day, so this is certainly a step up, though she did it with enough authority to suggest that she belongs back at this level. After all, she has won a Group 2 at the Curragh before, winning over course and distance in this race last year. That form is the best on offer for my money and is very hard to ignore, so don’t be surprised to see Johnny Murtagh’s filly defend her crown. If anyone beats Art Power, it’s her, and her credentials are so strong that she warrants further respect than odds of 9/2 suggest. Such a price offers a slither of value.
Our Each Way Prediction: Moss Tucker (each-way) @ 11/1
To be honest, if you’re looking to bet each-way in this race, your options are rather scarce. Moss Tucker may be the best option for each-way punters looking to oppose those at the head of the market.
This gelding hasn’t done too much in recent times, finishing down the field here at this level last time out, but he ought to be suited by the drop back to five furlong and he does like soft ground, so could easily be up to putting on an enhanced performance in the forecast conditions. After all, he won a Listed contest on soft ground at Naas back in April. If a couple of the chief protagonists fail to fire, he could be the one to pick up the pieces, while should he should give grabbing some each-way money a good shot either way.
