After facing each other on Thursday, Millonarios and America De Cali are all set to do battle once again on Sunday when they play each other in Colombian Primera A. Ahead of the potentially season-defining clash, here are some free tips and predictions that you might want to consider.

Millonarios to Win

Going into the game on Thursday, both teams were level on four points in Group B of the Colombian post-season. The game was billed as a potential winner takes all fixture and having beaten America, Millonarios are now in firm control of group B. Another win on Sunday would give them one foot in the playoff final and we expect them to get the job done on home turf.

Millonarios finished second in the regular season and much of that was down to the fact that they kept things tight, rarely conceding more than one in any league fixture. Their water-tight defence loves playing at home and we don’t believe that America De Cali have much chance of scoring a goal on Sunday, never mind getting a result. The home side haven’t conceded in their last two matches and we expect that run to extend further here.

After finishing first in the regular season last season and winning the Copa Colombia, Millonarios once again have their sights on silverware as the season approaches its climax. They are top of Group B as things stand while they are also top of their Copa Sudamericana group meaning that manager, Alberto Gamero, is having to juggle his squad accordingly to avoid injuries and fatigue. A win against America on Sunday would mean that a trip to the 2023 playoff final is almost a certainty.

America

America De Cali have been one of the best teams to watch in Colombian football this season with Facundo Suarez lighting Primera A. Unfortunately, they have lost their way a little in the post-season and haven’t been at their free-flowing best. However, there is still time to rectify the situation and if they were to beat Millonarios on Sunday then they would be back in the hunt for a playoff final birth and their 16th Colombian championship.
