Carlos Alcaraz vs Stefanos Tsitsipas Prediction and Odds: French Open 2023

Take a look at my tennis predictions today for the quarter-final match between Alcaraz and Tsitsipas. This one promises to be a classic!

These odds from Ladbrokes were correct at the time of writing.

Alcaraz vs Tsitsipas – Match Predictions

The first of two quarter-final matches in the Roland Garros men’s singles draw has been set. This match will see the world number one, Carlos Alcaraz, take on Stefanos Tsitsipas, and the winner will earn a spot in the semi-finals.

2023 French Open Schedule

On that note, based on the rankings, form, and head-to-head, all signs point to a win for the Spaniard. Yet where is the best value found in the available betting markets? Take a look below.

Alcaraz -1.5 Set Handicap

In order for this market to pull through, Carlos Alcaraz needs to beat Tsitsipas by a margin of at least two sets. For me, this is a logical market to go for since Tsitsipas has won just three sets from Alcaraz in four matches. As for their clay court battles, Alcaraz recently dominated Tsitsipas in the finals of Barcelona.

Tsitsipas to Win a Set

Taking everything into account, I wouldn’t be surprised if Stefanos Tsitsipas did win a set in this match. Don’t forget that the Greek has been a runner-up at Roland Garros in the past, so he has experience at this stage. With that said, Alcaraz lost in the quarters last year, so he is bidding to make the semis for the first time. This could play an important part in this market.

Alcaraz vs Tsitsipas Preview

It’s one thing to dish out ATP French Open predictions, but you’ll want to know a bit more about the players to understand what could go down here. So let me provide a preview for both Alcaraz and Tsitsipas now:

Carlos Alcaraz Preview

As the number one player in the world, Alcaraz is many people’s pick to win the entire tournament. He already has one Grand Slam title under his belt. And putting more emphasis on his dominance – he has beaten Tsitsipas in all four of their previous meetings. Therefore, I’m sure that Alcaraz will be feeling rather confident going into this clash.

Stefanos Tsitsipas Preview

Tsitsipas is currently number 5 in the world, so he is right up there with the very best in the men’s game. But even he would agree that the statistics don’t look too promising when going up against Alcaraz. With four losses in a row to the Spaniard, Tsitsipas will need to bring his all to make this one competitive. Then again, he has looked in fine form in his previous two rounds, and he has dropped just one set all tournament.

Alcaraz vs Tsitsipas Head to Head

Tsitsipas won’t want to pay too much attention to the head-to-head against Alcaraz. It currently stands at 4-0 in Alcaraz’s favour. Most importantly, the last two matches were both played on clay, with the most recent match being an Alcaraz masterclass in the Barcelona final. On the other hand, Alcaraz can draw a lot of confidence from this fact and he will certainly be the favourite to win this match.
