La Liga giants Real Madrid are reported to have approached Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to discuss their managing vacancy.Klopp has been the manager of the Reds since 2015, and he has been a huge success on Merseyside, becoming one of the club’s all-time greats.
He led his team to Premier League triumph in the 2019-20 season, ending the club’s 30-year drought for a league title.
The previous season, they defeated Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final to become European Champions for the sixth time in their history. That came a year after they suffered a difficult defeat in the final of the same competition at the hands of Zidane’s Real.
Klopp’s Struggles This Season
Klopp has also won the FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and Community Shield with Liverpool, but he has struggled to get the best out of his players this season.
The team has suffered with out of form players and injuries to some key players. Pundits feel the squad needs to be revitalized and a cash injection is required to bring in top players who can make the side competitive for next season.
Liverpool currently sit in 10th place in the Premier League rankings, with 29 points from 20 games.
The Reds remain winless in four Premier League games after being defeated 3-0 by Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend. A tough fixture versus Merseyside rivals Everton awaits the manager on Monday in this round of league fixtures.
They are also 12 points behind the top four, despite having two games in hand, and the club’s poor run has apparently prompted Klopp to contemplate his future.

Real Madrid, according to the EL Nacional media outlet, would be interested in hiring Klopp as their manager if he decides to leave Anfield after this season.
According to the source, the La Liga team has already made contact with the German, who has defined his demands.
Carlo Ancelotti is presently the manager of Real Madrid, and he is under contract with the club until 2024.
However, there is speculation that his future at the club is questionable, and whether he stays beyond this summer will be determined by Real Madrid’s performance on the field in the second half of the season.
Ancelotti oversaw Real Madrid’s 5-3 triumph over Al-Hilal in Morocco on Saturday, securing the Club World Cup title.
The Italian appears to be under pressure to add to the club’s prize cabinet this season, although maintaining La Liga might be difficult.

Los Blancos will meet Barcelona in the semi-finals of Spain’s domestic cup competition, while they will face Klopp and Liverpool in the Champions League last-16.
Despite the poor form of Liverpool this season, it will be difficult for Reds fans to say goodbye to the manager that has seen the gain so much success. Klopp too, may want to right wrongs and see his team to another title of some description before he decides to depart the Merseyside club.
