It’s a mid table clash at the City Ground in the Premier League on Sunday, as Nottingham Forest host Brentford at 14:00.
The stage is set for an evenly contested game, with just one point between the two sides who sit in 12th and 13th place respectively.

Sunday’s hosts are one point ahead of their visitors, with both clubs looking for a win after defeat last time out.
Steve Cooper’s squad last met Thomas Frank’s side in April during the 2022/23 campaign, in which the Bees came away with a late win despite being 1-0 down in the 82nd minute. Ivan Toney and Josh Dasilva dealt two last-gasp blows to the Reds who had to settle for defeat.
Last time at the City Ground, another late goal influenced the destination of the points, as a late Brentford own goal gifted Forest a 96th minute equaliser to end the game at 2-2 in November 2022.
Team news: Nottingham Forest
With two wins, one draw and three losses on the board so far, Forest’s on-pitch performance has been an improvement on last term, as Cooper’s side look threatening going forward.
Last time out however, the Reds were outclassed early on by Manchester City at the Etihad, losing 2-0 from goals scored in the opening 14 minutes.
It’s integral that the hosts go all out for the win on Sunday, considering they haven’t won since their magnificent result against Chelsea, winning 1-0 at Stamford Bridge at the start of September.
On the injury front, Cooper’s squad has finally been relieved of it’s influx of absences, with just Danilo and Nuno Tavares those currently out of contention.
Nottingham Forest predicted lineup
Turner; Aurier, Worrall, Niakhate, Ainia; Sangare, Yates; Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Awoniyi
Team news: Brentford
Similarly to Forest, Frank’s side will be eyeing a win on Sunday as they are currently winless from their previous four league games.
The Bees have registered only one win this campaign in the Premier League, with their last game being a deeply disappointing home loss against Everton at the Gtech Community Stadium.
A 3-1 defeat to the Blues sees Brentford sat in 13th, a position that could be bolstered with a win over the side ahead of them this weekend.
Defender Rico Henry could miss the remainder of the season after suffering an ACL injury against Newcastle earlier this month, adding pressure to Frank’s current list of absentees.
Josh Dasilva, Ben Mee, Shandon Baptiste, Kevin Schade and Mikkel Damsgaard will remain unavailable for selection against Forest.
Brentford predicted lineup
Flekken; Roerslev, Collins, Pinnock, Hickey; Jensen, Norgaard, Janelt; Mbeumo, Wissa, Lewis-Potter
What’s the latest on Kevin Schade’s fitness?
One shining light of Brentford’s lacklustre start to the 2023/24 campaign has been 21-year-old Kevin Schade, who scored a magnificent solo goal against Crystal Palace in August.

The winger sustained a hip injury prior to the game against Everton, and has this week been ruled out for ‘several months’ with a groin injury that will require surgery.
It’s a big blow for the Bees, who were impressed by their summer signings start to life in England.
