After much anticipation, the Solheim Cup is finally upon us. The best female golfers from Europe will take on the best female golfers from the USA over three days of action at Finca Cortesín Golf Club in Andalucia.
The two captains, Suzann Pettersen and Stacy Lewis, have selected their team and both sets of players are raring to go. Europe come into the event after winning the previous two editions of the Solheim Cup and are looking to make history by becoming the first European team to win three consecutive Solheim Cups.
The Solheim Cup is set to get underway on Friday with two sessions featuring both foursomes and fourball action. The same format will continue on Saturday before the event comes to a close on Sunday with every player taking part in a singles match. Fans in the USA and UK are able to enjoy all of the thrills and spills of the Solheim Cup this weekend via various methods. Here is what you need to know.
Solheim Cup UK TV schedule
For fans in the UK, there is only place that you are going to be able to watch every shot of the Solheim Cup this weekend. Sky Sports Golf has exclusive rights to the event and they will be showing wall-to-wall coverage from Friday through to Sunday.
In order to gain access to Sky Sports Golf, fans will need to pay £18 per month to upgrade their television package. Alternatively, you can pay £25 per month to gain access to all of Sky Sports’ channels. Once you’ve subscribed, you will be tied into a contract so won’t be able to cancel the service until the contract has expired.
Solheim Cup US TV schedule
Golf fans in the USA will also be able to catch all of the action live on the Golf Channel. On Thursday and Friday, live coverage will begin at 2 a.m. Eastern Time and finish at 1 p.m. The early start is due to the fact the event is taking place which is six hours ahead of the East Coast.
On Sunday, live coverage will begin slightly later in the morning at 5 a.m. Eastern Time and finish at 11 a.m. The shorter coverage reflects the fact that the singles action on Sunday will wrap up quicker than the foursomes and fourballs will on the opening two days.
How to stream the Solheim Cup?
There are several streaming options for the Solheim Cup depending on whereabouts you are located. UK fans who have a Sky subscription will be able to stream the event via SkyGo on their mobile phones, tablets and smart televisions. Those without a Sky subscription can purchase a Now TV pass in order to stream the event. Day passes cost £11.99 while a monthly membership costs £33.99.
Fans in the USA can stream all three days of action on Peacock. A subscription to Peacock costs just $5.99 per month so is well worth it even if you just want the service for the Solheim Cup.
