Wolves vs Aston Villa predicted lineups: Purring Wanderers keen to end Villans’ winning run

With this being a midland derby, our Wolves vs Aston Villa predicted lineups has no shortage of players who will do anything to win. Gary O’Neil’s side look to maintain their impressive form by beating Unai Emery’s charges in their Premier League clash at Molineux Stadium.

Wolves vs Aston Villa Predicted Lineups and Team News

Wolves have started to purr under Gary O’Neill and are coming off the back of a stunning 2-1 win over Manchester City, which ended the champions’ 100% win record in the Premier League.

Yet, Villa are also riding high on momentum after demolishing Brighton 6-1 at Villa Park last week, before getting their first win in the UEFA Europa Conference League against Zrinjski Mostar. Emery’s side are being stretched to the limit with so many matches in a short space, but know that being able to build on their two-match winning run can help them move into the top four heading into the international break.

Team News: Wolves

Wolves are fortunate enough not to be suffering from any major injuries at this point of the campaign. However, they will still be without summer signing Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, who is suspended after getting a direct red card in their 1-1 draw against Luton Town last month.

Tommy Doyle will, however, be available again for O’Neil after sitting out the game against the Cityzens due to ineligibility to play against his parent club. The Wolves gaffer will aim to form a strong defensive line against the menacing Villans’ frontline and urge his side to be ruthless on the counter-attack to get another big win at home.

Team News: Aston Villa

Unai Emery is still without a number of prominent first-team players due to hutting injuries. Influential midfielder Emiliano Buendia has been ruled out for the season after suffering a horrible knee injury at the start of the campaign. A similar case is with Tyrone Mings after he got injured in his side’s opening Premier League game.

Jacob Ramsey is also doubtful with an ankle injury, while Alex Moreno remains on the sideline. Moussa Diaby and Boubacar Kamara will need to pass a late fitness test to be fit for this after missing the mid-week game. The Spaniard will urge his side to play their clinical attacking football that helped them get big wins over Brighton and Chelsea recently and be a thorn for the hosts at the Molineux stadium.

Menacing Pedro Neto ready to torment Villans

Pedro Neto has been on fire for Wolves at the start of the season, already having five goal contributions (1 goal, 4 assists) in just seven appearances. He’s yet to score a goal at home so ar, but his thunderous display against Manchester City got many fans talking about him.

Neto is high on confidence right now and terrorizing defenders with his unpredictable style. His speedy runs with the ball, close control and dribbling ability make it tough for any defender to keep him quiet. He’ll look to torment the shaky Lucas Digne to get into key areas and open up the opposition backline.

The 23-year-old is blessed with creativity, as he aims to create big chances for players inside the box. However, with Neto yet to score at home this season, he’ll probably play with an added incentive to get into scoring chances and light up the Molineux with an amazing goal on Sunday.
