Manchester City are now potentially just three and a half hours away from being crowned champions of Europe for the first time in their history as they begin their final preparations for the Champions League Final with Inter Milan. With just 90 minutes to go until kick-off, the teams have been officially announced and Guardiola has resisted the temptation to make any maverick decisions.

Manchester City Confirmed Lineup: Ederson, Ake, Dias, Akanji, Stones, Rodri, Gundogan, Silva, De Bruyne, Grealish, Haaland

Manchester City Team News

Ederson – The Brazilian’s reintroduction to the starting lineup is the only change from City’s FA Cup final win over Manchester United last weekend.

Nathan Ake – The Dutchman returns in the absence of Kyle Walker who has been nursing a back injury this week.

Ruben Dias – The imperious centre back will look to keep Dzeko and Martinez quiet.

Manuel Akanji – Has benefited from Nathan Ake’s hamstring problems in recent weeks and has retained his place in Guardiola’s eleven.

John Stones – The Barnsley-born defender has been excelling in the centre back/defensive midfield hybrid role and will once again be one to keep an eye on tonight.

Rodri – An unsung hero in this City team and was probably the first name on the team sheet after inexplicably being left out for the final two years ago.

Ilkay Gundogan – The German has scored some huge goals for City and who would bet against him getting another tonight?

Bernardo Silva – Like Gundogan, Silva has made a name for himself as being a big-game player for City. In what could be his final game of the club, does he have one more big performance in his locker?

Kevin de Bruyne – Was poor at Wembley last weekend but was never going to be left out. His connection with Erling Haaland will be what concerns Inter Milan the most.

Jack Grealish – After a stellar second season at the club, Grealish will be hoping to round it off with the biggest trophy of all.

Erling Haaland – The Norweigan goal machine has scored 52 goals is 52 games this season, which suggests you would be daft to bet against him scoring tonight.

Substitutes

Stefan Ortega – Did well last week at Wembley and will be a solid replacement should anything happen to Ederson.

Scott Carson – The club’s third choice goalkeeper could end up with this second Champions League winners medal

Kyle Walker – Has been battling an injury all week and is only fit enough for the bench.

Aymeric Laporte – Finds himself quite low down the pecking order at City which just shows how strong their defence is.

Rico Lewis – A great experience for the teenager.

Sergio Gomez – Has had a difficult first season in England but could end it with three winners medals.

Kalvin Phillips – Unlikely to make an appearance after what has been a disappointing debut campaign at City.

Phil Foden – Will likely be the first player Guardiola turns to if things aren’t going to plan.

Maximo Perrone – A peripheral figure at the club.

Riyad Mahrez – Another fantastic option to have off the bench if City are lacking imagination.

Cole Palmer – Is highly unlikely to get on the pitch but a great occasion for a homegrown player to be part of.

Julian Alvarez – Won the World Cup in December and could lift the Champions League tonight.

Inter Milan Lineup

City’s opponents on the night, Inter Milan, will be lining up with a back five as expected while at the top end of the pitch, Edin Dzeko has been given the nod ahead of Romelu Lukaku.

Inter Milan Confirmed Lineup: Onana, Darmian, Acerbi, Bastoni, Dumfries, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Dimarco, Martinez, Dzeko.
