This weekend, the winner of the Six Nations 2023 could well be decided.
While it is only Round Two, the two pre-tournament favourites in the Six Nations odds come head to head, in what could well be the match of the competition. Ireland will play host to France, in a battle between World No.1 and World No.2 for the very first time in the Six Nations. Can France keep their winning streak alive, or will Ireland prove why they’re World No.1 and favourites to win the Six Nations this year?
We look at where to watch Ireland vs France and briefly preview this game as well.
Ireland vs France Preview
Both Ireland and France came away from Round One of the Six Nations with the maximum points on offer, and sit in joint first place in the Six Nations standings currently. However, the way in which they got there was entirely different.
Ireland travelled to Cardiff, and were comprehensive from the first minute. The men in green blew Wales away in the first 20 minutes, scoring a point a minute and racing out to a 24-3 lead half way through the first half. Admittedly the Welsh did pull the game back to make the final score 34-10, but it’s no mean feat to go to Cardiff and win by 24 points, regardless of how poor Wales are playing currently.
France on the other hand, also started strong with three quick tries against Italy, but then barely managed to win against last year’s wooden spooners. With 13 minutes to go in their match, Italy held a 24-22 lead, and what looked like the upset of the century was on the cards. France managed to escape with a try and claim the bonus point win, but were given an almighty fright.
