Feyenoord to Win

With four competitive matches already in the tank, Feyenoord should have the edge over Willem II in terms of fitness on Sunday, though the head-to-head record between the teams from last season provides the most compelling piece of evidence for our tip. Feyenoord hammered Willem II twice last term, positing 5-0 and 4-1 victories over their opponents and we’re tipping De club aan de Maas to punish the same opponents again this weekend.

Over 1.5 Feyenoord Team Goals

Feyenoord scored nine times over two meetings with Willem II last season and they have looked incisive enough in attack so far this term to suggest they can cut loose against the same defence on Sunday. Dick Advocaat’s men hit the net three times in each of their last three competitive fixtures and they are playing with enough confidence to make them worth backing in the over 1.5 team goals market this week.

Guus Til to Score Anytime

Guus Til joined Feyenoord on loan from Spartak Moscow in the summer and the midfielder has already made a real splash for his temporary employers, netting five times in just three appearances. Til looks right at home in his new surroundings and with his self-belief peaking, he looks a prime candidate to get among the goals against Willem II.

Willem II vs Feyenoord: Match Preview

Willem II

Willem II finished in a lowly 14th position last season, a massive drop from their 5th place berth the year before, and in an attempt to resurrect their fortunes, they swapped Zeljko Petrovic for Fred Grim in the dugout. The new head coach will have to do without the services of star man Vangelis Pavlidis however, after the attacker was sold to AZ.

Feyenoord

Feyenoord started the 2021/22 campaign on something of a sour note after key midfielder Steven Berghuis left to join traditional rivals Ajax in the summer, though a string of impressive displays in Europe has restored some positivity.  In terms of their targets for the campaign, a big improvement is expected domestically after Dick Advocaat could only lead Feyenoord to a 5th place finish in the Eredivisie last season.
