Contents
Motherwell to Win
Motherwell are two places and four points behind St. Mirren in the current Premiership standings, though their record in recent meetings with The Buddies should be cause for optimism. The Well have been a bogey side for their opponents over the past couple of years and their unbeaten seven game run against St. Mirren includes wins in three of the sides’ last five tussles. With that excellent record in mind, we recommend backing Motherwell to win again.
Both Teams to Score
Fir Park was a fertile hunting ground for both teams to score bettors in the lead-up to the mid-season break and each of Motherwell’s last three assignments there produced action at both ends. St. Mirren meanwhile, had scored in four out of five Premiership tests before the hiatus and they could lodge a consolation effort here. That would put BTTS back on the table as a solid option this weekend.
Kevin van Veen to Score Anytime
Dutch striker Kevin van Veen was the match-winner when Motherwell last played St. Mirren back in July (1-0) and the expert finisher could be one to watch in the anytime goalscorer market again in Saturday’s rematch. Van Veen is Motherwell’s leading marksman overall this term with seven goals and an eighth strike could be in the offing against The Buddies.
