MK Dons vs Peterborough – Predictions, Odds & Best Betting Tips

MK Dons might have been tipped as a promotion challenger this season but they’re way off the pace right now. If, however, they can beat Peterborough it could well kickstart their season. Can they get those three points though?¬†Find out with our MK Dons vs Peterborough preview here along with the predictions and free tips we mention along the way.

MK Dons to win

We kick off our tips for this match by backing a home win, which could raise a few eyebrows given Peterborough sit considerably higher in the table than their hosts. The thing is neither are in great form right now. MK Dons have won just two of their last five whilst losing three with Peterborough having very similar form; they’ve won each of their last two but lost the three prior games. What’s really noteworthy though – and what swings this game in MK Dons’ favour – is how bad Peterborough are away from home; they’ve lost each of their last five on the road.

Over 2.5 goals

Our next tip for this game comes from the total goals market and we are backing over 2.5 goals. MK Dons have seen three of their last five matches go over that threshold. That is also the case for Peterborough with just two of their past five going south of the 2.5 cut off. Interestingly, both sides saw over 2.5 goals in their last outing as well and, on top of that, three of the last four head to head meetings between these sides have gone over the 2.5 marker with those four games averaging 4.0 goals per game.

Clarke-Harris to score

Our final tip for this match is that Peterborough striker Jonson Clarke-Harris will bag at some point in the match. The Posh man leads the League One scoring charts with seven goals to date with two of those strikes coming in his last outing. When you then consider that MK Dons have given up six goals in their last four matches, it becomes highly likely that he’ll have at least one chance fall at his feet – should that happen, there is a real chance he’ll tuck it away.

MK Dons vs Peterborough: Team News

MK Dons

It’s been a tough start to the season for MK Dons after losing some key players – most notably Scott Twine – in the summer. They are still a decent side on their day though and have goals in the team. Will Grigg, who hasn’t enjoyed loads of minutes of late, bagged last time out off the bench and could come in for a start here. If he does, he’s a proven goalscorer at this level.

Peterborough

Peterborough are always a strong outfit at League One level but they’re just a tad of the pace at the moment – albeit not by a lot. With Jonson Clarke-Harris their main man up top, they’ll always score goals but they do need to get a result on road if they’re to be true contenders this season.
