St Mirren to avoid defeat

Hibernian have been going through a rough patch recently, they’ve won just one of their last five games; it’s fair to point out that Hibs’ only win came in the cup, against a League One team, and that too, in extra time. Hibernian have no wins in their last four league games; and it’s even worse that they failed to score in three of them. In contrast, St Mirren have improved a lot recently; they have no losses in their last four games, with three wins and a draw. Considering both teams’ form, we believe that St Mirren will take at least one point from this game.

At least one side will blank

We’ve mentioned that Hibernian failed to score in three of their last four league games; conversely, they haven’t done a bad job defensively. Hibs have kept three clean sheets in their last four games. Hibernian’s games tend to be one-sided when it comes to scoring goals; at least one side failed to score in four of their last five games. On the other hand, St Mirren have kept two clean sheets in their last four games; they’ve conceded just two goals in that four game stretch. At least one side blanked in four of St Mirren’s last six games in all competitions. With this in mind, at least one of these teams should keep a clean sheet.

Going under 2.5

Most of both teams’ games have been on the low-scoring side; as a matter of fact, three of Hibernian’s last four games were goalless at the end of regulation time. It’s important to note that four of Hibs’ last five games went below the 2.5 goal margin. In like manner, St Mirren have had their fair share of low-scoring games; their last three, and 11 of their last 13 games went under 2.5. On that note, we shouldn’t expect too many goals here.
