A St Mirren double chance
St Johnstone have struggled a bit recently; they are coming off a win, but that was their first win in four games. It’s fair to point out that St Johnstone have been a better team on the road than they’ve been at home this season; Callum Davidson’s men have won just once at home against Dundee FC, who are second last in the Premiership. In the same vein, St Mirren have been better on the road; two of their three wins have come away and they’ve only lost once in six road games. Considering that loss was to Celtic, coupled with St Johnstone’s poor home record, we’re making the prediction that St Mirren will not to lose.
Don’t bank on goals
Encounters between these sides tend to be on the low scoring side; 12 of the last 14 meetings between them went under 2.5. It’s worth noting that the two times these teams went over, it was at St Mirren’s home. The last time these teams scored up to three goals at St Johnstone’s stadium was back in 2014. As a matter of fact, their last four meetings at this stadium went under 1.5. Considering six of St Johnstone’s last eight games went below this line, we shouldn’t expect a lot of goals in this game.
Someone will blank
Both teams have scored just twice in the last 14 clashes between these two; neither of those two games were not at this stadium. When St Mirren come visiting, encounters between these sides don’t see much in the way of goals; this is evidenced by the fact that they’ve only scored three goals between them in their last four meetings here. Also, both teams have not scored the last six times these teams met at this ground. With this in mind, we believe at least one side will blank when they meet on Saturday.

St Johnstone vs St Mirren: Team News
St Johnstone
St Johnstone halted their winless run with a win at Dundee United last weekend; they’ll hope to win two consecutive games for the first time this season. Callum Davidson will have to do without the likes of David Witherspoon, Lars Dendoncker and Shaun Rooney.
St Mirren
St Mirren have a difficult task ahead of them; they’re visiting a stadium where they haven’t won in seven years. Jim Goodwin’s men have struggled lately, failing to win their last three games; they will hope they can count on Eamonn Brophy to bang in the goals.
