The results in the first two rounds of 2022 WC Qualifiers don’t give a lot of reasons for Moldova and Israel fans to be optimistic. Their upcoming duel might change this, so check out our preview of this match.

Our top free predictions for Moldova vs Israel

The team from the Middle East is the favourite in this match, but they haven’t really been great so far. With that in mind, we’ve decided to offer our prediction of this match, so take a look at our free tips:

Both Teams to Score

In the previous five matches, Moldova only managed to score one goal, against the Faroe Islands. They have been struggling to find the net and we don’t see this changing in the upcoming match. Israel is a bit more efficient, but they are also a much better team in defence. In any case, one of these two teams not scoring seems like a reasonable prediction.

Total Goals Under 2.5

Since we don’t expect both teams to score, it is obvious that we also don’t expect many goals. Despite the fact that Moldova conceded eight goals against Denmark, we don’t see Israel getting anywhere close to this feat. In fact, we expect Moldova to focus on their defence to make up for the humiliation result from the previous round.

Half-Time Result: Draw

As you already guessed, we expect 0-0 at half-time in this match. These two teams will certainly be careful going into this game after they’ve failed to get a positive result in the previous rounds, so we don’t see any of them trying to score an early goal. A draw at half-time seems like a good bet, especially since the previous match between two teams in 2017 ended in a draw as well.

Moldova vs Israel preview: A chance for redemption for both teams

The match between Moldova and Israel is not anticipated by many outside these two countries. However, it can still be an interesting match and we’ve taken a closer look at these two national teams.

Moldova

After a draw in the first round with Faroe Island, Moldova entered the second round in a positive atmosphere. However, they were demolished in Denmark 8-0. Conceding eight goals is certainly not a pleasant thing, but Moldova is one of the weakest teams in Europe, so it’s not a huge surprise. They will certainly try to put up a better showing against Israel and bring their fans a bit of happiness after that humiliation.

Israel

Although nobody expected Israel to dominate the group or even thought of them as one of the favourites for getting to the World Cup, their start of the Qualifiers has certainly disappointed fans. After losing in the first round to Denmark, Israel failed to win against Scotland as well. With one point after the first two rounds, the game against Moldova is an absolute must-win for the team if they want to remain in the race for at least play-offs.
