Argentina and Brazil to Draw
The first game between these two teams in the WC Qualifiers was interrupted after a few minutes and it is yet to be rescheduled. In any case, Argentina and Brazil are at the top of the group, as expected, with Brazil being the more dominant team in these Qualifiers. So, with Argentina hosting the game, we expect a close match and ultimately a draw.
Argentina and Brazil to Draw at Half Time
Since we expect this game to end without a winner, we also expect Argentina and Brazil to be tied at half time. After all, that is the most common way these matches tend to go, with a draw at half time and at the end of the game. That being said, these two teams drew at half time in just one of their previous five meetings, but we like our prediction nonetheless.
Under 2.5 Total Goals
All five previous head-to-head duels between Argentina and Brazil have gone under 2.5 total goals, so we would be surprised to see three or more goals in their upcoming match. In addition to this, Argentina averaged just 2.17 goals per game in these Qualifiers, which is the second-worst average in the group. Meanwhile, Brazil averaged 2.58 goals per game until now in the group.

Argentina vs Brazil preview: The biggest derby in South America
Argentina
After winning Copa America this summer, Argentina kept their great form going into their games in the WC Qualifiers and they are currently only behind Brazil in the group. After eleven games, Argentina has seven wins and four draws, still waiting on their first loss. If they can do well in the next game against Uruguay, Argentina probably secure their place in Qatar, if they haven’t done so already.
Brazil
Only one game of eleven that Brazil played in these Qualifiers didn’t end with a win for the Selecao, and it was the previous duel with their upcoming rival Colombia that ended without goals. So, it’s clear that Brazil will travel to Qatar next year, where they will be one of the main favourites to win the World Cup, which would be their sixth one.
