Norway to Win with a Handicap (-3)
So, we all know that Norway is going to win this game. Gibraltar is one of the weakest teams in Europe, with all of the players in the squad playing in their domestic league. The main question here is the number of goals that will be the difference between the two teams. We are confident that Norway can win by at least four goals since Gibraltar is known to concede many goals against good teams.
Half-Time Total Goals Over 1.5
The odds on this market are surprisingly good, especially since we expect Norway to come out of the locker room determined to put the game away as soon as possible. With that in mind, our prediction that we will see at least 2 goals in the first half seems like a smart bet.
Norway Total Goals Over 3.5
Since we expect Norway to win by four goals, we also expect them to score that many goals. This is a bit safer bet than betting on the -3 handicap since you can win even if Gibraltar somehow manages to score a goal, while Norway scores four. We are not sure whether Haaland will play in this game or rest for the other, more difficult matches, but that doesn’t change much in our predictions.
Gibraltar vs Norway preview: How many goals will Norway score?
The discrepancy in quality between these two teams makes any surprises here unlikely. But, let’s take a closer look at the teams before we jump to conclusions:
Gibraltar
If you haven’t been following international football that closely, you may have missed the fact that Gibraltar is now participating in official international matches. The change came in 2016 and the team has been competing in all major competition qualifications and the UEFA Nations League. In fact, Gibraltar managed to gain promotion from League D to League C of this competition, after topping the group with Liechtenstein and San Marino.
Norway
Although the Norwegian national team is lauded for its new generation led by the young world-class striker Erling Haaland, the team failed to qualify for the Euro 2020, despite having another chance at qualification through UEFA Nations League. They had a home-court advantage against Serbia, but they’ve suffered a somewhat surprising loss in the semi-finals of the play-offs. Still, the team has moved from League C to League B of the UEFA Nations League and they’ve managed to remain there, so they are in good form.
