Finland to Win

After two draws in their first two matches in the group, Finland will be looking for a win against Kazakhstan, the weakest team in the group on paper. Finland is definitely the better team and in better form, plus they are playing at home. And while Kazakhstan proved to be a tough nut to crack after drawing twice against Ukraine in previous rounds, our prediction is for Finland to win this match.

Under 2.5 Total Goals

The last five matches played by Finland, three of which were played at EURO 2020, have all gone under 2.5 total goals. So, it’s clear that the Scandinavians don’t play many high-scoring matches. Meanwhile, three of the last five Kazakhstan matches have gone over 2.5 total goals, but we don’t expect to see many goals in this game. So, our prediction is for this game to go under 2.5 total goals.

Both Teams to Score – No

Both teams have scored in three of the last five matches played by Kazakhstan across the board, but we haven’t seen this happen in any of the previous five Finland games. Since Finland is the home team, we expect them to control the game and impose their style of play, so we don’t expect to see both teams scoring in this match.

Finland vs Kazakhstan preview: Can Finland climb to the second place in the group?

Both teams enter this game with the same number of points, so we should see a close duel. With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at the teams ahead of this game:

Finland

It seems that we will see a very exciting fight for the second place in Group D of the UEFA WC Qualifiers, and Finland should be among the teams fighting for it. The team started the Qualifiers with a couple of draws against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Ukraine, but a win against Kazakhstan could push them up to the second place in the group. Finland is certainly hopeful that they can reach their first World Cup tournament in history, after they already appeared in the European Championships for the first time this summer.

Kazakhstan

The former USSR republic is still waiting for their first appearance at a major international competition such as UEFA Euro or World Cup – and they will probably have to wait a while more since the team currently lacks the quality to achieve these goals. That being said, Kazakhstan didn’t have the worse start of the WC Qualifiers since they drew twice with Ukraine and lost to France in the first three rounds.
