Lincoln vs Sunderland – Free Betting Tips & Predictions

Sunderland have claimed ten points from the last 12 on offer ahead of their trip to play Lincoln on Saturday. Read our top three predictions for this weekend’s fixture below.

These odds from Ladbrokes were correct at the time of writing.

Sunderland to Win

With three wins and a draw from their last four matches, Sunderland are gearing up for a strong finish to the campaign and the Black Cats can maintain their playoff push with another victory at Lincoln. The hosts are in a bit of a rut following a run of five defeats in seven League One assignments and Sunderland have the quality to put the squeeze on the Imps’ fragile confidence.

Over 1.5 Sunderland Team Goals

Only Oxford (73) have scored more goals than Sunderland (66) in League Two this term and the Black Cats plundered eight of their efforts in their last four matches. The promotion chasers notched at least twice in all but one of those tussles and Sunderland have enough high-calibre performers in attack to hit the net over 1.5 times again at the LNER Stadium.

Ross Stewart to Score Anytime

By his own high standards, Ross Stewart’s three game spell without a goal is something of an unusual dry patch, though League One’s leading marksman could get back to business at Lincoln. The Sunderland star found the net in the reverse meeting between the clubs in January and Stewart can punish the same defence on Saturday.

Lincoln vs Sunderland Match Preview and Team News

Liam Bridcutt and Lewis Montsma are out injured for Lincoln, while first choice keeper Josh Griffiths could miss out again having sat out Tuesday’s defeat to Rotherham. Conor McGrandles should be back in midfield following the end of his suspension, however. The Imps can still finish in a respectable mid-table position with the right set of results between now and May.

Alex Pritchard, Lee Burge, Aiden McGeady and Niall Huggins could all be out for Sunderland this weekend, while Danny Batth and Nathan Broadhead are considered doubtful. Sunderland had the night off in midweek and having not played since their 2-0 win over Crewe seven days ago, they should be full of energy against Lincoln.
