Dundee to secure first win

We begin our predictions by backing Dundee to grab their first win of the league campaign. That’s right, they’re yet to win in the Premiership but, performance wise, they’ve come along way since Celtic tonked them 6-0 with a league cup win over Motherwell particularly noteworthy. The fact they’re facing another side that are yet to win this season in Livingston gives them a greater chance too. In addition to home advantage and marginally better form, Dundee also boast a better head to head record; they’ve beat Livingston in the last two meetings.

Both teams to contribute goals

Next up in our trio of free tips is for both teams to score during the 90 minutes. This isn’t nailed on but the stats lean towards a ‘yes’ bet rather than a ‘no’ one hence we feel there is decent value offered by the Betfred odds. Dundee have scored in three of their previous five games. Livingston have achieved the same feat. That shows there is goal scoring ability in both teams but what about defensively? Well, between them there has been one clean sheet; that was recorded by Dundee.

Livingston will score

Our final prediction is a very simple one and is a bet that could be settled well before the final whistle blows; we’re essentially backing Livingston to score in the match. Across their last 10 fixtures they’ve averaged 1.4 goals scored per match. They’re up against a Dundee side that have conceded at a rate of 1.5 per match in their last 10 too. Don’t get us wrong, those stats aren’t the most convincing we’ve ever seen but at 4/9 for Livingston just to hit the net it’s well worth a punt.

Dundee vs Livingston: Match Preview

Dundee

Dundee haven’t started the season in anything like the way their pre-season and early league cup form suggested they might with the club still winless. They’ll be hoping that will change sooner rather than later though; deadline day loan signing Leigh Griffiths could be a master stroke and he’ll probably get the nod to start in this game.

Livingston

Like Dundee, Livingston have had a tough start to the season; well, actually it’s been horrific in league terms with zero points from four games. David Martindale was quick to point to fitness issues after their last game. With the international break having provided an opportunity to get some back training, they’ll be hoping this is the week. Stephane Omeonga will probably be involved too.
