Ajax vs Vitesse – Free Betting Tips & Predictions

Ajax dropped points at Twente last week – can the Amsterdam giants get back to winning ways against Vitesse? Read our top three expert predictions for Sunday’s fixture below.

The odds presented here are always subject to change. Remember to check with the bookmaker before placing the bet. These odds are provided by Betfred, our recommended bookmaker for the big game.

Ajax to Win and Over 2.5 Goals

Ajax looked well short of their usually brilliant selves when they dropped points at Twente last time out, but back in Amsterdam, we’re tipping the champions to shine again. Ajax always tend to put on a show on their own patch, indeed, a bet on them to win and over 2.5 goals to be scored would have landed in seven of their last nine Eredivisie assignments at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. That combination is available at a relatively short price on Sunday, though there is enough value in there to pursue it.

Ajax to Score in Both Halves

Of the nine fixtures mentioned in our first tip, Ajax managed to score either side of the interval on six separate occasions, highlighting the incredible goal-scoring power in de Godenzonen’s ranks. Ajax will have frustrations to exorcise against Vitesse on Sunday after their poor showing at Twente, so expect the goals to flow in both halves again.

Sebastien Haller to Score Anytime

Sebastien Haller has hit the ground running in 2021/22 and the former West Ham man found the net in each of Ajax’ first two Eredivisie matches of the new campaign against NEC and Twente. The Ivory Coast international opened the scoring for Ajax when they last played Vitesse in May and we’re tipping him to make another match-defining impact against the same opponents on Sunday.

Ajax vs Vitesse: Match Preview

Ajax

Ajax blitzed NEC 5-0 on the opening weekend of the Eredivisie season, though the champions looked really off colour in their 1-1 draw at Twente last time out. Erik ten Hag’s men mustered just three attempts on target in their tie, which is a remarkably low figure for a team with so much attacking talent. That poor performance should sharpen Ajax’s focus for the visit of Vitesse on Sunday however.

Vitesse

Vitesse were humbled 3-0 at home by Willem II last weekend in a result that few saw coming. Thomas Letsch’s side enjoyed better possession and attempts stats than their conquerors, though they were picked off on the counter attack. Ajax represent a very different challenge to the one Vitesse faced against Willem, though another heavy defeat looks possible.
