- Both Teams to Score – Yes @ 4/7 (1.57)
- Anytime Goalscorer – Sebastien Haller @ 1/1 (2.0)
These odds from Ladbrokes were correct at the time of writing.
Ajax to Win
Ajax were actually thumped 4-0 by title rivals PSV earlier in the campaign in a strangely one-sided Super Cup contest in August, though we’re tipping the champions to exact some revenge against their rivals in the Eredivisie. Ajax have won a superb nine of their last ten games in all competitions and their 4-0 hammering of Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League in midweek will have galvanised their already surging confidence even further. With the hosts playing some electrifying football at present, we’re tipping Ajax to win Sunday’s De Topper fixture.
Both Teams to Score
Sunday’s clash in Amsterdam is an early title six-pointer and we expect both Ajax and PSV to gun for glory at the Johan Cruijff Arena. Four of the last five Eredivisie skirmishes between the antagonists have produced goals at both ends and the same market is worth pursuing in this weekend’s crucial contest.
Sebastien Haller to Score Anytime
Sebastien Haller notched his 12th goal in 13 games in all competitions for Ajax this season in the club’s 4-0 rout of Dortmund on Wednesday and the red-hot Ivory Coast international is one to watch in the anytime goalscorer stakes again this weekend. Haller scored twice against PSV when the Boeren last visited Amsterdam in January and that brace should give him the impetus he needs to do some more damage on Sunday.
Ajax vs PSV: Match Preview
Ajax team news
Maarten Stekelenburg is a long-term absentee for Ajax, while Sean Klaiber is rated as doubtful. Erik ten Hag could choose to freshen his team up a little following their European exploits, with Davy Klassen, David Neres and Mohammed Kudus all hoping to come into the XI. Ajax could open up a four-point lead over PSV at the league’s summit with a victory on Sunday.
PSV team news
Shurandy Sambo and Ritsu Doan are expected to miss Sunday’s game for PSV. The Boeren were also involved in European football in midweek, though they fared worse than Ajax. PSV were beaten 2-1 at home by Monaco in the Europa League, ending a run of three straight victories on all competitions before that. PSV haven’t won a league game in Amsterdam since 2015.
