Betting is available for events under all federations is at your finger tips whether ahead of time or in-play and, the best types you can place are vast. The usual suspects are present but you can delve deeper by betting on things like the number of aces and faults too. Another huge plus point for Bet365 is that they’ll let you watch the action live on a lot of events providing you have a funded account.

Compared to the others mentioned, Stake is perhaps lesser known but they are a reputable company with a growing presence. Their market depth isn’t as extensive as Betfred and Bet365 but you can still wager on the result, sets and place handicap bets.

Tennis betting guide: The key markets explained

We’ve touched on a few different markets in this article and to round off our tennis betting guide we thought we should explain what some of the key ones are.

Let’s start with the match result; this is largely self-explanatory as you are simply backing someone to win that match. If the player(s) you back win, then you win. If they lose, you lose.

Handicap bets generally focus on flexing the number of games a player starts with and you then bet for a player to win plus or minus those games. For example, if a player has a +1.5 handicap then even if they lost the match by one game, they’d win courtesy of the handicap. If a player had a -1.5 handicap then they’d have to win by at least two games to overcome the negative start position.

Finally, we’ll touch on total games. Total games is another bet that uses decimals but the bookmaker will offer a price on something like ‘Total Games Over/Under 21.5’. In this type of bet, the punter has to choose whether or not the total number of games in a match will be over or under 21.5. If you go over, then 22 or more games played will see you win. If the total number of games is 21 or fewer then you would lose and vice versa.
