Aside from the main issues of crowning the Premier League champions, finalising the European spots and sorting the relegation places, there are, of course, several individual prizes that must be rewarded after the final ball has been kicked.

Goalkeepers may focus on clean sheets and midfielders on assists, with attackers only having eyes for one thing; the Top Goalscorer award.

There are several experienced Premier League forwards out there who have continuously secured a spot high up in the leaderboard in recent seasons with their phenomenal finishing, but there are also some new faces looking to make an immediate mark in England.

We take a look at the potential 2020/21 Premier League top goalscorers and their current odds to achieve the feat, and make a prediction as to which player might just clinch the honour at the end of the season.

Premier League Top Scorer Odds

1. Mohamed Salah – Odds: 4/1

The Egyptian’s 19 goals were key in ending Liverpool’s long wait for a Premier League trophy, with his 62% shot accuracy from the wing comfortably ahead of both Sterling and team-mate Sadio Mane.

He now boasts an incredible 73 league goals from his past three campaigns at Anfield, and so he simply cannot be excluded from any potential top goalscorer award for the coming season. Salah’s sublime hat trick vs Leeds United in the opening week means he’s now the early favourite to take home the award.

2. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Odds: 9/2

The Arsenal forward finished just one goal behind Vardy last time out, despite spending over half of the campaign on the left-wing.

The Gabon international has already started off his season in typical Aubameyang fashion with a stunning strike in the Community Shield victory over Liverpool, and he looks set to be the one to watch going forward.

3. Harry Kane – Odds: 6/1

Another England international coming off the back of a strong campaign, Kane has proved his importance to Tottenham Hotspur time and again, and the club will need him at his best should they have any hope of clinching a top-four spot.

He found the back of the net 18 times despite an injury-hit season, so it would be no real surprise to see the clinical finisher surpass that total should he manage to remain fit.

4. Timo Werner – Odds: 10/1

At just 24, the German is RB Leipzig’s all-time top goalscorer, with his 34 goals in all competitions last season earning him a move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

He’s also scoring for fun at international level, and could really set the Premier League alight in the coming months, particularly with Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic behind him.

5. Sadio Mane – Odds: 11/1

Unstoppable when running direct to goal, Mane also knows how to find the back of the net, endearing himself to the Liverpool faithful with his displays over the years.

The Senegal star finished just one goal behind his team-mate Salah last season on 18, having shared the top scorer award with his fellow winger and Aubameyang in 2018/19. He will undoubtedly be in the mix once again.

6. Jamie Vardy – Odds: 12/1

Last season’s top goalscorer and one of the league’s deadliest finishers, Vardy continues to prove his doubters wrong year in, year out.

The Englishman has recorded figures of 23, 18, 20, 13 and 24 goals in his previous five Premier League campaigns respectively, and is a dreaded sight for every defender, regardless of their ability or reputation. The Leicester star will be in contention yet again.

7. Raheem Sterling – Odds: 14/1

With Manchester City aiming to regain their title, there will be huge pressure on the entire squad. But Sterling is more than capable of providing the goods in such a situation.

The winger has amassed an incredible 55 league goals in the last three seasons, a remarkable achievement given his position on the pitch. At 25 years old, he can still get a lot better.

8. Danny Ings – Odds: 16/1

The 2019/20 campaign proved to be a huge success for Ings in more ways than one, with the Southampton striker’s 22 goals earning him a recall to the England national team after a five-year absence.

His goal conversion of 33% was higher than any other player in the competition last season, and there is no reason why the former Burnley and Liverpool man can’t hit similar heights once again.

9. Anthony Martial – Odds: 22/1

The French international formed the centre-point of Manchester United’s deadly front three as they clinched third place in the table last season, with his mazy runs terrorising defences all over.

His shot accuracy of 68% was well ahead of his closest competitors, and he will certainly be looking to level or even surpass last season’s tally of 17 goals as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men launch their title challenge.

10. Sergio Aguero – Odds: 25/1

Another serial goalscorer, the Argentine reached the 20-goal mark for five seasons in a row between 2014 and 2019, and even managed 16 last time out despite missing a large chunk of the season through injury.

His record of just 91 minutes per goal in the last campaign was simply miles ahead of any other attacker, and at 32 he still has a lot left to give. Staying fit maybe his only challenge.

Outsiders

There will, however, be a handful of other attackers throughout the league with one eye on the highly-coveted prize.

One such attacker includes City’s Gabriel Jesus, who may just be given a more prominent role by Pep Guardiola. The young Brazilian is currently 16/1 to finish in first place in the goalscoring charts.

Spurs wizard Son Heung-min meanwhile will want to improve on his tally of 11 from the previous campaign, and he can be backed at 20/1 to come out on top at the end of it all.

Other interested parties include newly-recruited Newcastle man Callum Wilson, who brings with him plenty of top-flight experience after his relegation with Bournemouth. Wolves hitman Raul Jimenez is another with huge potential to fire his way to the top, having netted 17 times last time out.

The former is currently 50/1 to claim the top goalscorer award, with the latter available at 20/1.

Finally, Leeds striker Rodrigo will be looking to make his mark and prove his worth after a big-money move from Valencia. The Spaniard has been given odds of 66/1 to exceed all expectations and take home the Premier League Golden Boot in his debut season at Elland Road.
